ISLAMABAD:
Sherry Rehman, the minister for climate change, encouraged farmers on Saturday to take the required safeguards and mitigating actions in order to avoid losses and damages resulting from an
impending period of high rainfall in the nation.
The federal ministry stated in a statement that the projected effects of the approaching weather system on the agriculture and animal industries will vary.
According to her, “high winds, heavy rains, and hailstorms are likely to adversely affect new sowing efforts as well as cause damage to the standing and recently harvested crops.”
- She issued a warning that fruit orchards might also be impacted, with newly flowered or budding mango orchards vulnerable to damage from strong winds and hailstorms.
