Imran Khan is mandated

Once the investigation is complete by May 8, the court requests the Punjab government’s report.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was ordered by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday to take part in all investigations into the allegations brought against him by Friday.

The PTI leader was told by a three-member high court panel during the hearing of his petition challenging the filing of 121 charges against him to “join the investigations by 2pm on Friday.”

The appeal was considered by a three-judge high court panel made up of Justices Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Ali Baqar Najafi, and Aalia Neelum.
Last month, Khan submitted a plea asking for the dismissal of 121 cases that had been brought against him. Nevertheless, the argument was later changed to only contest the cases' registration. The Punjab Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, the Pakistani Federation, the province of Punjab, and other regional and national authorities are named as parties to the request.

In addition, the Punjab government was ordered by the court to submit a report by May 8 when the investigations were complete.

Imran Khan has no cases brought against him in his 71 years of life, the attorney said.

The court then inquired as to why lawsuits had been brought following the election of a new administration. It's claimed by them [the petitioner] that the proceedings were filed to prevent him from visiting the
Justice Neelum requested a commitment from Khan's attorney that he will participate in the investigation in response to this. She said that in all cases, the court was allowing the petitioner enough time to participate in the investigation.

However, Justice Sheikh remarked that it was imperative to appear before the investigation officer (IO).

While asking the court to permit appearance via video link, Khan’s attorney gave the assurance that they would participate in the investigation in every case.

Barrister Safdar continued, "We are prepared to operate in accordance with the laws and the Code of Criminal Procedure."
