LAHORE: According to The News, Punjab's provincial capital Lahore is getting ready to implement the "Blue Road" idea, making it the first city in Asia and Pakistan to do so.
The project is being worked on by the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab).
The idea, according to officials, was to update the city’s infrastructure and enhance people’ quality of life.
Incorporating heat observation and energy-saving features to lessen pollution and foster a healthier environment, Blue Roads are intended to provide a sustainable alternative to conventional asphalt roads.
These cutting-edge roadways make use of a customised coating that deflects sunlight and lowers the amount of heat that the road surface absorbs. The reflective covering further enhances visibility.
According to sources who spoke to the magazine, interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave the project’s prompt implementation to CBD Punjab CEO Imran Amin.
Imran Amin stated, "We are pleased to launch the Blue Road concept in Pakistan, which has already been implemented effectively in various European and Middle Eastern nations including the Netherlands, France, and Qatar.
