The policies were agreed during the commission meeting held just before Eid, and specifics about the four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) and two-year Associate degree (AD) programmes were confirmed. Significant modifications were made to the admissions procedure, framework, and programme structure.
Exam results will now be given for the AD programmes, which are currently offered in public and private institutions that are linked with universities, based on CGPA rather than grades or division.
The general education component for all associate degree and BS programmes will also need to include entrepreneurship. Additionally, by crediting up to 168 hours, the four-year BS programme now offers the first-ever double specialisation (double major) option.
PhD Programmes
- If the university administers the admission exam, the an applicant must receive at least 70% on the admission exam if they choose to pursue a PhD in an inter-disciplinary, intra-qualification discipline.
- According to the MPhil/PhD policy, if the university administers the entrance exam, the passing percentage has been increased to 60% for the MPhil level and 70% for the PhD level.
A required 3-credit-hour internship has been added to the AD and BS programmes under the heading of field experience, replacing the practical learning lab (sports, youth club, and entrepreneurship) that was formerly part of the undergraduate policy.
