Tauqeer Nasir
It was reported on Thursday that veteran actor Tauqeer Nasir, who has had a long career and has been in several plays, has been named the head of the Punjab Film Censor Board.
Over 40 years have passed since Nasir’s career with Pakistan Television (PTV) began.
On August 14, 2022, Sitara-e-Imtiaz was presented to him by President Dr. Arif Alvi.
Nasir has held director positions at the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and the Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad, respectively.
After his appointment, Nasir spoke with Jang and promised to work to address the issues facing the film business. I am fully aware of the issues facing the film business since I have stayed involved with it, he remarked.
Actor Vasay Chaudhry has previously been chosen to serve as the vice-chairman of the Punjab Film Censor Board. But a little more than two months later, his term came to an end when Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi denotified the censor board.
“My tenure as the Vice Chairman ends with viewing 8 films, consuming 4 cups of coffee, 1 bag of chips, 1 pack of popcorn, and 3 water bottles, passing 7 films with cuts, and banning 1 (it was an E-rated Hollywood film),” the actor said after the Punjab film censor board recently de-notified him.
