KARACHI: The Peoples’ Bus Service drivers’ frequent absences are contributing to commuter problems on many routes in Karachi, according to a report from ARY News on Tuesday.
As the absence of bus drivers has become customary in Karachi, the recently inaugurated People’s Bus Service is gradually turning into a burden for people rather than a convenience.
The sources claim that the Sindh government has decreased the number of buses from 30 to 20, and in the meantime, commuters using the public bus service have also voiced their displeasure with the People’s Bus Service’s delays on several routes.
Additionally, commuters now have to wait longer due to the reduction of 10 buses on the R-1 route from Malir Model Colony to DHA Karachi.
The manager of the R1 route of the bus service, however, stated that drivers are being encouraged to arrive at their scheduled timings .
