Prior to his scheduled appearance before the IHC to request bail in many FIRs filed against him, the PTI chairman was detained as part of the NAB’s investigation into the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Imran Khan was taken away by Rangers soldiers in a black Toyota Hilux Vigo and dropped down to NAB Rawalpindi.
Before going for the court, Khan reportedly said: “If someone has a warrant, they should personally present it to me. It appears that Khan learned about his detention hours earlier. I’ll have my attorney there; bring the warrant. I’m all set to leave.
The former premier advised against producing any drama while insisting that he be reached with a warrant.
“I have no evidence against me. I’m psychologically ready to be taken into custody. Khan declared, “If I have to go to jail, I’m prepared. The politician who used to play cricket said that the country had known him for fifty years.
In order to access the politically embattled firebrand leader, paramilitary personnel had to bust a number of doors, climb through shattered windows, and struggle with PTI followers and attorneys. Khan’s dramatic arrest has spurred rallies across the nation.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Inspector General Pakistani Police (IGP) in Islamabad, verified the development and stated that everything were under control.
The PTI chairman was at the IHC’s biometric verification division, according to Geo News, whenKhan’s warrants were issued on May 1 by Nazir Ahmad Butt, the head of the NAB.
Khan was charged under Section 9A of the National Accountability Ordinance of 1999, according to a statement from the NAB.
The accountability watchdog stated in a statement that “the arrest was ordered and carried out by the NAB,” adding that “Rangers troops were deployed for the action on the orders of the Ministry of the Interior.”
The declaration made it obvious that despite Section 144 was already in effect in the federal capital, the Rangers had not detained Khan.

Geo News, meanwhile, has an exclusive video of the PTI leader’s detention. Khan may be seen in the video sitting quietly and watching the events while wearing sunglasses.
‘Tortured’ by Rangers According to Imran Khan Khan’s attorney, Barrister Ali Gohar, the Rangers officers “tortured” the party leader during the detention.
“Imran Khan was hit on the head and his injured leg,” he alleged.
He continued by saying that Ali Bukhari and he had been there when the PTI leader was taken into custody.
Advocate Gohar added that “Rangers broke through the glass and entered the diary branch,” and that they also damaged the main gate of the IHC before ransacking the IHC office.
IHC is alert.
The Islamabad IGP and the interior secretary were called within “15 minutes” after Khan was arrested by the IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, who took note of the situation.
In addition, he ordered the second attorney general to find out right away who was responsible for the arrest and to appear before the court in 15 minutes.
The chief justice stated that “action will be taken against the prime minister and ministers if an inquiry needs to be conducted.”
Tell us in whatever case the arrest was made, Justice Farooq continued.
The Islamabad advocate general then asked the court to extend the time allotted for the hearing from 15 minutes to 30 minutes, but the plea was denied and he was told to appear in 15 minutes.
Imran Khan was ‘abducted’
The PTI, meantime, has denounced the party chairman’s detention, calling it a “abduction” by the police, and has asked its fans and employees to organise rallies across the nation.
Workers for the PTI then staged demonstrations in a number of towns and cities across the nation, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Mardan.
Near Nursery in Karachi, protesters and police engaged in physical conflict. They destroyed street lights and flung stones at police cars. According to accounts, police shot tear gas rounds at the demonstrators.
Next step to be announced by six-member body
PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed his disapproval of his party chief’s imprisonment in response to the “illegal” action. He urged everyone to demonstrate by saying, “The entire nation should immediately take to the streets.”
Asad Umar, the secretary general of PTI, denounced the detention on Twitter and said a committee will reveal the following course of action.
“Pakistan’s top political figure was detained following an attack on the high court. It is demonstrated to the entire world that there is no longer any law in the nation, he stated.
Umar stated that Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who chairs the party’s six-member committee, will present PTI’s strategy.
In an audio message sent on PTI’s official Twitter account, PTI leader Murad Saeed alleged that Khan had been abused and detained. He urged his supporters—especially young people—to demonstrate against the PTI chief’s incarceration.
“Free Pakistan from these oppressors and fake gods, please. It’s Haqeeqi Azadi time. Come out to the locations that you have been told to go to,” he urged.
