Famous Cannes Film Festival of 2023. The festival will feature film premieres and new project announcements from filmmakers all over the world. Indian film has a considerable amount of representation each year. While red carpet appearances get the greatest attention, several Indian films are also chosen for the festival’s showing in a number of categories. A select few Indian films from this year have been chosen to play in Cannes in 2023. Take a look at this:
Kennedy
The Cannes Film Festival is not new to Anurag Kashyap. He will attend Cannes this year with his most recent movie, Kennedy. The movie is a part of the festival’s Midnight Screenings category. An allegedly dead ex-cop who now works for the corrupt system and seeks atonement is the main character of the movie. Rahul Bhatt, Sunny Leone, and Abhilash Thapliyal all play significant parts in the movie.
Agra
Agra, the most recent film by filmmaker Kanu Behl, who also had his debut film Titli shown at Cannes, will be presented there in 2023. The movie will make its international debut during the festival’s Director’s Fortnight section. Rahul Roy, an actor from the 1990s, makes a comeback in the movie, which examines the sexual dynamics of a family in a tiny North Indian village. Priyanka Bose, Mohit Agarwal, Vibha Chibber, and other notable actors also had significant parts in Agra.
Ishanou, a 1990 movie by Manipuri director Aribam Syam Sharma, will be shown in the Classic Section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2023. It is the only Indian movie that has been selected for Cannes 2023’s section.
debuts on the red carpet
Not just movies, but a number of well-known Indian actors will also walk the red carpet during the festival.
Anushka Sharma, a Bollywood actress, will make her Cannes debut this year. She will reportedly take part in an occasion honouring women in film. Kate Winslet, a well-known Hollywood actress, will perform on stage alongside Anushka.
Together with social media personality and actress Dolly Singh, Manushi Chillara will make her Cannes debut this year. Manushi Chillara is an actress and a former Miss World.
The faithful
Bollywood actresses In recent years, Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra have established themselves as familiar figures on the Cannes red carpet. But none of these actresses has formally acknowledged or denied that they would be there. As the brand ambassadors for L’Oreal Paris, the primary sponsor of the French film festival, Aishwarya and Sonam are probably going to walk the red carpet.
Aditi Rao Hydari and Vijay Verma are rumoured to be attending the festival with the Indian delegation. From May 16 to May 11, the Cannes Film Festival will take place.
