AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX and Intel i9-13900HX CPUs
Minisforum is showcasing motherboards at its Computex 2023 stand that will be found in high-end small PCs that go on sale at the end of 2023. A PCIe 4.0 slot for a full-size GPU that can be attached using a riser connection is available on both the Intel and AMD variants.
The micro PC market will soon have some of the quickest laptop CPUs from AMD and Intel, and Minisforum will be among the first to provide such systems. Adding more potent systems with AMD’s Dragon Range R9 7945HX and Intel’s I9-13900HX is what Minisforum plans to do if the Intel i7-13700H and AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS setups aren’t good enough.
There are currently no tiny PC configurations powered by the aforementioned laptop CPUs on display from the Chinese mini PC manufacturer. Instead, mini-ITX motherboards with Dragon Range and Raptor Lake-HX BGA chips are on exhibit at the Minisforum stand from Computex ’23. The motherboards have a PCIe 4.0 X16 slot for a full-size GPU, which gives them a somewhat bigger appearance than Minisforum’s typical configuration. However, the GPU won’t be linked to the motherboard directly; instead, a riser cable that extends to a unique mounting box resembling the B550 Pro design will connect the GPU to the motherboard.
According to the images given by WCCFTech, the mobos are quite similar and have ports for Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 as well as two DDR5 RAM slots, two M.2 storage slots, and an 8-pin power connector. Although Minisforum does not provide a definite release date for these models, we may anticipate the customary Kickstarter campaigns before year’s end.
