PTI leader charges IHC CJ
Imran Khan, the leader of the on Wednesday accusing the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court of “deep and established bias.”
Specifically blaming IHC Chief Justice (CJ IHC) Aamer Farooq, the former prime minister said in the appeal that he is being kept in Attock jail after being “convicted on a cooked up and fabricated charge after a ‘trial’ in gross abuse of due process.”
The application charged the CJ IHC with “endeavoring to do everything to keep the petitioner behind bars with the intent that he be unable to contest the forthcoming general elections and thus be ousted from politics of Pakistan,” and stated that “more than sufficient incontrovertible evidence is available to establish the deep and settled bias of the CJ IHC towards the petitioner.”
Imran stated in his appeal that CJ Farooq had “instrumented” the regional judge in order to further “their common objective” and that Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar had “despised” him.
He said that after their shared goal was accomplished by the petitioner’s aforementioned wrongful conviction, “the hon’ble CJ IHC handsomely rewarded the learned ASJ.”
The petition also alluded to disagreements with Judge Dilawar’s decision in the Toshakhana (gift repository) case, in which Imran was given a three-year prison sentence.
IHC will hear arguments on Imran’s petition on Thursday, according to Toshakhana.
The majority of it focused on how “the learned CJ IHC has demonstrated his bias and prejudice against the petitioner” throughout instances.
Aside from the CJ IHC’s “deliberate refrain from restraining the bludgeoning” of the petitioner during his detention by rangers on court property, the petition also brought up the delay in the pronouncement of the court’s decision in the infidelity case against Imran Khan.
“He (CJ IHC) made it possible for people all around the nation to witness the upsetting photographs. Later, he declared that the arrest of the petitioner was legal and conducted legally. However, the Supreme Court made a different determination. However, a sizable portion of the population, including the petitioner, is adamant that the entire incident was played out just as it was written, with the learned CJ IHC playing a big role. How is it possible for the petitioner to expect any justice from him?
Imran asked the SC to “transfer all cases, investigation, inquires, trials, in which the petitioner is a party/respondent/accused from the IHC to the Lahore High Court or Peshawar High Court” and “in the meantime: restrain the IHC to continue with the aforesaid trails/proceedings” in order to relieve him of his legal woes.
It should be remembered that the PTI leader had already voiced his mistrust of the justices sitting on the Toshakhana (gift repository) issue, including CJ IHC. He had asked that the high-profile case be transferred to another court and that the top justice abstain from hearing it.
